We’ve begun initial trials on the tablet and demo versions with a select group of testers. So far, the testing seems to have gone relatively smoothly. A set of balance changes are up on the test server and the release plan is coming together. With all of this in mind, we’re giving some thanks to everyone who has helped progress the game throughout the entire beta period.
Check out the most recent Test Server patch notes. There’s a lot going on there. Along with some changes to longstanding Scrolls like Bombard and Machinated, there are heavy changes to Curse scrolls and a new mechanic introduced that removes poison by utilizing any heal effect. Love it? Hate it? Be heard, as always, by posting in either the scrollsguide.com forums or the /r/scrolls subreddit.
Yep, there will be a demo version. You may have seen some users around in chat with a curious little D next to their name. It looks a little something like this:
The demo version will be a free download designed to introduce players to the game with access to a limited amount of features. Demo users will be unable to do the following:
- Use the Black Market
- Trade with other players
- Purchase from the “Just For You”section of the store
- Purchase preconstructed decks
- Purchase avatars
- Save avatars
- Participate in Judgement or Ranked matches
- Play against Medium or Hard AI
- Play any Trial (including Dailies) above Easy difficulty
We’re pretty excited to provide this version of the game to new players who may have some doubts about purchasing before playing. Look for it to officially be available some time soon.
It’s been a long beta period. You, who are reading this, are most likely one of the people who have helped the game get this far. You deserve something. How about a face lift?
Have a look at the Beta Tester heads! This is our small token of appreciation for the immeasurable amount of help everyone has provided in pushing Scrolls to where it is now. Expect these to be awarded after the beta period officially ends and release is upon us. I’ve been told there is no way to light the candle.
Have a great weekend!
